Learn the basics of using a sewing machine as we work through making a lined tote bag with pockets just in time for beach days. You’ll also learn a variety of seam types, topstitching, and seam finishing techniques and we’ll discuss cutting and working with various fabrics.
All materials to make a cotton/linen blend polka dot tote will be provided* as well as patterns so you can make other bags on your own after class. Sewing machines are provided, but if you have your own that you prefer to work with please bring it – It would be better to learn on a machine you will normally use
* If you do not want to use the dot fabric, you may bring your own ½ yard of medium weight canvas, but the black bottom and straps will still be provided and is not optional. Please mention if you intend to bring your own fabric and/or machine when you sign up.
